Agee. But I think the focus on the mid-terms is misplaced, given that our voting apparatus is either compromised or suppressed. We’re not going to vote our way out of this mess. Biden was an anomaly and the GOP cheaters will never allow that to happen again.

Well we certainly owe it to ourselves to damn well try!

If by “trying” you mean revolution, I think you’re correct.

If we get enough voters out we can beat their suppression. It is too early for revolution. The people are not educated enough about what is wrong. Organizing at every level is needed now. It will take some time and events to re-educate the WC folks that have lost their way. The process of getting involved in democratic struggles, locally and nationally, helps people see what needs to be done, for whatever changes become necessary.

I thought that too, until Elon hacked the machines.

Dr Williams, where have you been all my life. Not to overstate the matter, but I read A LOT and your piece is the most complete and succinct description of our current state of affairs ever. I guess those with the ears to hear, and the eyes to see, will hear you and see the truth. I only wish there were more of us.

#9 resonates so hard; I’ve been screaming about that for a long time. As much as I admire the sentiment, saying “when they go low we go high” to these scumbags is akin to preemptively giving the school bully your lunch money and then asking them to please punch you in the face

Turning the other cheek is getting punched in the face twice. Past time to hit back. The Democrats need their own Projects 2025 and 2026. Identify the Republicans they can flip in Congress now and obstruct every vote and nomination. Keep pressure on the underlings and appointments. Go after seats in the midterms. Start campaigning for voters in 2028 NOW. If poor Blacks with few resources could fight for civil rights, the Left can do it too. Build new alliances among the groups hurt by Trump: poor whites, women, unions, journalists, foreign countries, everyone that loses anything under the Orange Regime.

There are many ways to pushback against Trump and everyone needs to do everything.

Once the reality of what these coup plotters are doing to those that refuse to believe their senses. But they will get a rude awakening in the next few weeks or months as their health care, SS, Medicare, etc. come under vicious attack by the MAGA criminals who have been trying for years to dismantle. Now that they have complete control over our governmental institutions, they will do any and everything they can to never allow things to go back to the status quo, that is if we let them! Let’s not surrender, but “Fight like Hell”! To keep our country from the “Robber Barons “

There may be an 11th point furnished by a brief post-election report, now neglected, on Russian attitudes towards Trump’s 2024 win. A member of Putin’s inner circle spoke of Trump being “duty bound” to fulfill his “obligations” to the Russian “forces” that engineered his “success in the elections” (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/donald-trump-has-obligations-to-those-who-brought-him-to-power-putin-ally/ar-AA1tX1h3). And since the Oval Office ambush of President Zelenskyy, Trump’s alignment with Putin’s foreign policy has become more apparent while Rachel Maddow builds her list of even domestic policies weakening the USA in ways Putin would want. The “Russia, Russia, Russia hoax” aspersions have always been a Russian propaganda tool to defang the truth that Trump has been a Putin plant/puppet since at least 2015. The more we delay recognizing our altered state as a once-free people now conquered by Russian asymmetrical warfare, the harder will be our obligation to free ourselves from Putin-Trump authoritarianism and restore our democracy, Constitution, and rule of law.

I do believe there will be an uprising , as it has already begun, and I truly hope it’s a peaceful one and not like January 6. “We the people” have the power to change starting within the state you live in call your representatives everyday, be a nuisance, be a force!

Outstanding post. My only concern is it’s too late for messaging. The coup is complete. The only option left is to shut the country down with strikes, boycotts and massive demonstrations.

Dr. Williams,

The time has passed for all of the philosophizing. I am 77 and the leaders brought problems as well as possible solutions to the people! Being united is a must!
