You are absolutely right on every score. I am upgrading to paid today because finally someone is asking for action. We have spent the last 7 months protesting without any movement from our elected officials because they are not worried because they think we are as selfish and scarred as they are. I have been following so many great thinkers on the platform and what they are saying is so true but the people who should be listening are not listening. We have to take action, and a national strike would be a first step to do something without resorting to violence. We also need to galvanize a multi-million march to the capitol steps to strike some amount of fear into the people who are supposed to represent the country We have let a petty dictator take over and now we have to take real action to reclaim a country.

Just tell me when, and I'm prepared to strike, whether it's a shopping or dining out moratorium or stop paying my federal income taxes.

Timing is everything. I think plans need to be in place so that when the mobilizing trip wire is activated, such a strike will happen everywhere all at once. Look to France and other places where general strikes have made a difference. Also, Dr. Glaude, remember that many folk who are no longer working, or not involved in paid employment, might like a way to stand up and be counted, too. And please give our best to your mother in her hours of need. I know she is blessed in her son.

I am so sorry your mom has to go through such awful treatments, but I am sure your presence will be a great soothing to her.

As an old (white) lady, I like very much what you wrote...I think there needs to be a unification of all who are opposed to the circus that is going on in DC, and I hear a lot of negative comments against what is being done, even from MAGA tending people. The separation is what is hurting us, and we need have maybe some kind of virtual force inclusive of everyone. We all stand to hurt from the circus...just a matter of time.

If we could shut the economy down for a week, that would be totally awesome

I agree a strike is needed and Im in. Unfortunately, too many folks are preoccupied with the mundane and unimportant news and not keeping abreast of the threats that are here or coming soon. Even in my own family there are members who chastise me for making them aware. Too many folk are distracted and not paying attention or think the courts will save us like last time.

This administration is waiting for a mass protest so the Felon can declare martial law. They call "protesting" a civil unrest as a threat to incarcerate, and to scare those willing to stand up.

Before we take action, we need to mobilize those who want to participate so we know how many in numbers we have to make an impact.

How do we start to get organized? Maybe we can get the churches, mosques, temples and synagogues to lead the way. It seems that we are lacking leadership. Not sure why.

Dr Eddie, i remember the conservative liberal schism, and Reagan reframing to Neo-Liberalism turning the former Liberal to be about money just like the conservatives. the decades since have further reduced the humanitarianism of Liberals. i treasure your posts about the Real, about Loving Compassion. blessings to your mama and to you and to your family.

Dr. Eddie,

The time is now! “We are more powerful when we turn to each other , and not on each other, when we celebrate our diversity… And together tear down the mighty walls of injustice!” - Unknown

Positive wishes for the very best outcome for your mom with the very least discomfort. I too had various breast cancer treatments. Every woman ( and even some men) go through their own experience with it as every body and state of the disease is unique. Your presence and love are sustenance for her.

Regarding the present government offensive, I also think there needs to come a time for a massive strike/no work as usual. When would the right moment be and what factors should be considered in the timing. I would surmise that there would likely be infiltrators who will be violent and an excuse for Trump to call for Marshall Law and military intervention. And cancel elections if the strike is near election time. In the meantime, grassroots organizing continues on all fronts for small, meaningful successes that build the movement for quality of life and model caring communities.
