its enraging...whats more enraging was that if this any other country in the world[certainly in europe], they would be protests, their would be anger, they would be accountability..and finally the people would[in most cases ,even after one major shooting] bring the government to deal with the matter..and if they didnt, protests would bring the government to halt until something was done....there is nothing more important than the children ,the family, the ones we love..and if we cant protect them, we demand the government do something to correct the matter...if we dont even call to protect the children...to do anything at all, then you just arent civilized in amerca anymore :(

So enjoy your writing.

What you tolerate today, you accept tomorrow. Learned this from my entire family from generations before that has carried on.

In family settings if you tolerate your children to lie then you will accept the lie tomorrow. If you address the lie explain the ramifications of lying as to what can happen by that lie as well as the importance of truths even though that truth may have consequences the child learns the behaviors that lying is wrong and truths are always the way to go in life. You may have consequences for the truths but they are much less than the consequences of the lie. The lie is also harder to remember. If it’s tolerated then what will happen is the lies become many. What are then the truths versus the lies. How are they held accountable?

Same for a professional life. When you tolerate a person coming in late to work. You accept it tomorrow. If you don’t address the person who comes in late the first time by using performance management, problem solving and communication techniques from listening to formulate questions when needed to assist them to schedule accordingly the behavior will continue therefore you accepted it and cannot hold any other person accountable in your company.

The same goes for society and politicians.

We as a society have tolerated so much and should not. We currently are tolerating a complicit nonexistent Congress. We should not therefore call your representatives daily if needed to remind their job description. Will they listen and change only time will tell. But also what we have tolerated with all our politicians is to allow them to believe that their jobs are a long term gig. It’s not suppose to be. They are hired for terms from 2, 4 and 6 years. They are done with that temporary job per the agreement whether they be a House Representative, President or Senator. If they choose to renegotiate their job and be reelected then there’s that time as voters to decide if we will tolerate and then accept their behaviors from the past term by giving them another 2,4 or 6 year contract by reelecting them. If not then another person who’s campaigning against them gets the job by our vote.

But what we have over time have allowed to be accepted and tolerated is that these politicians think they are the employer versus the employee of the people they represent. Therefore we are now having to accept their behavior. We shouldn’t but here but we are. In my opinion once we as a collective society can grasp the ideals of what a democracy is suppose to be that we the people have more power than any politician we will unfortunately accept their behaviors which never should have been tolerated in the first place.
