This country for the most part does not want to hear the truth learn the truth adhere to the truth from A Educated Black Man.. Ahem. I couldn't agree more. All the blather amounts to deliberate fear-mongering of the same type as that carried out by those who styled Martin Luther King a communist. I mean, come on. So-called Democratic Socialism, for the most part, espouses similar if not virtually identical goals as those which guide the Social Democracies of Denmark, Sweden, Norway and to some extent other countries in Northern Europe and maybe Brazil in recent years. The Scandinavians won't call themselves Democratic Socialists because, and it seems wisely, they don't want their form of government to be confused with anything remotely resembling the Soviet Union, or any similar system in which the means of production are seized by a centralized government and private enterprise repressed. Instead, they have vibrant economies in which individuals and business interests are free to innovate and profit from their enterprise--AS LONG AS THEY PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE OF THE COST OF INSURING THAT ALL CITIZENS CAN ENJOY A DECENT WAY OF LIFE, including affordable health care, low-cost education, affordable homes and such 'perks' as extended family leave, when such leave is a moral and practical imperative. I'll bet that if you removed the labeling and just made a list of the freedoms and social supports the Social Democracies enjoy, a substantial majority of Americans would want the same.
We are a country that assign’s labels to everyone and every thing. What if we stopped labeling everyone and just took their ideas at face value.! Remember: George Washington said if we ever became parties it would be the ruin of the American experiment. Yup.
i want both the centralist dems and the progressive left to unite to fight republicans for something real, something that benefits the american people and saves its values , but the trouble is , i feel that many centralist dems wanna kick the progressives to the kerbs, i have seen it all the way back to the first time bernie took to the scene, and to be honest even thou i am english, i share the resentment of many progressives that the central dems, are not willing to share the democratic party and fight for the democrats and america....and by this point, i am of the mindset that if the progressives cant work with the centralist dems, then you go thru the centralists dems, and make it work regardless of them, if they wanna get on board and wanna help out , fine..but if they prefer fascism , corruption , and the wealthy donors rather than the american people, then barge them out of the way, and let progressives get on with the task of saving the republic
