One of the senior sisters shared this poem with us this morning at the church. “A man dies when he refuses to stand up for what is right. A man dies when he refuses to stand up for justice. A man dies when he refuses to take a stand for that which is true.” Martin Luther King, Jr
Continue to stand tall because this election is only a chapter in our lives!
For some reason, I keep coming back to this DuBois quote.
"Now is the accepted time, not tomorrow, not some more convenient season. It is today that our best work can be done and not some future day or future year. It is today that we fit ourselves for the greater usefulness of tomorrow. Today is the seed time, now are the hours of work, and tomorrow comes the harvest and the playtime."
The human tendency to focus outward on others, what they are or are not doing is a conditioned pattern, rooted deeply in our heritage and manifest in our present struggle. This miraculous movement to democracy is facilitated by us coming together because we have looked inward. I have felt it for weeks. It has been uplifting and joyful to be part of the grass roots movements to elect Harris and flip our local district for Congress. Millions have decided this is not who they are when gazing in the mirror. This gives me hope. I know tomorrow is just the beginning of a long path to recovery. I hope and pray we all keep looking at that person in the mirror and realize truly multiracial multicultural equity is the only way to have a strong democracy, and truly the closest thing that humans can create to experience the Peace of God.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Yes, Finally. I am hopeful that Vice President Harris will be victorious when all the ballots are counted. If by chance she is not, I --we-- must continue to be hopeful and continue to resist -- no different from our Ancestors. Life for them was no chrystal stair. But they kept on climbing. So we must too.
Good afternoon Dr, Glaude,
One of the senior sisters shared this poem with us this morning at the church. “A man dies when he refuses to stand up for what is right. A man dies when he refuses to stand up for justice. A man dies when he refuses to take a stand for that which is true.” Martin Luther King, Jr

Even in the dimmest light, there’s a path forward. Thank you for these powerful words!

Thank you. Your words are a real comfort to me. I pray for your well being and a thousand angels around you. 💙

I'd say that I'm 'Nauseously optimistic'....
Thank you for always capturing the spirit and wisdom of our day.
