Sadly, I totally agree with your analysis, Eddie. Your recent book—and Ibram’s Chain of Ideas—underscore that this ugliness is systemic and deep-seated. The cruelty of the recent Supreme Court decision is staggering.

Well said. White Nationalists also think they’re too good to clean toilets and scrub floors, so what will they do when there’s no one to handle the work they won’t do? And with all people of color banished, they’ll have no one they can look down on. What then?

Well, Christian nationalilsm is working on labeling mainline Christians as "less them", and women are holding rapidly less equality than even 40 years ago. So I think they will manage to find someone to rank lower than themselves. Hate works that way.

I am not on X so I can't respond there so I'll say it here. MK has got a lot of nerve. I remember when she had a racist meltdown about Christmas saying, "Sorry kids Jesus is white and Santa is white." That was said on Fox so nothing was done. But when she defended the use of Blackface on MSNBC she knew she had crossed the line. So she went running after Roland Martin and appeared on his show thinking her appearance on a Black news show would save her job. It didn't.

Toni Morrison said it best, "If I take your race away, and there you are, all strung out. And all you got is your little self, and what is that? What are you without racism? Are you any good? Are you still strong? Are you still smart? Do you still like yourself? I mean, these are the questions. If you can only be tall because somebody is on their knees, then you have a serious problem. And my feeling is: White people have a very, very serious problem, and they should start thinking about what they can do about it. Take me out of it."

Sadly , it not just MAGA or backwards Southern states.

Anyone who has ever read Howard Zinn or Isabel Wilkerson or James Baldwin or Eugene Robinsons newest book knows America' likes to pretend it's something it's not

Megyn Kelly has always been ignorant and she’s giddy about something she will never understand. We are all God’s children and Jesus was a brown Jew, not a blue eyed white man.

I am sorry Professor Eddie but we know the risk that we take when we call out the devil. But we also know the greater cost of remaining silent and not speaking the truth. I am praying for you and keep telling the truth.

Omgs, how disgusting they are! I just don’t know what to say other than I am so sorry and sad, and mostly because this reaction and attitude isn’t new to you, Eddie, or to other people of color. Absolute deplorables!

I'm so sorry, Dr. Glaude. This harms all of us, whether some of us know it or not. Thank you for your important work.

Here I go again "Liking" something that I hate reading. But your truth is what I need and I am so glad that you are still speaking out. It's so important to name the problem. The disease of racism. The fact that we are stuck, stuck in this system that subjugates one group and raises another up---completely artificially. Barack Obama is so right---we are more like each other than different----but that fact TERRIFIES folks who believe in white supremacy. It does not soothe them at all. Interestingly, Megyn Kelly and her ilk really need people to despise, people to feel superior to. If they actually were able to eliminate all people of color----who would they hate?

I can't even say " How did we get here?" because the truth is we were always here. That said, I can't stand Megyn Kelly, never could.

As ever, admiring your fortitude. Thank you.

Racism is racism. White privilege is white privilege. You guys out there need to own it so we can get somewhere. Sorry

Reason cannot remove what it has not implanted.

The low-information Megyn Kellys on the planet did not arrive at their brazen and poisonous illogic via reason; they therefore cannot be reasoned out of it.

Full stop.

Perhaps if the whites would intermingle with the blacks and the blacks would intermingle with the whites then in a few generations we would all look the same and all the racists in this country would have nothing to complain about. I realize this is pure fancy and nothing more than a dream at this time but wouldn’t it be nice if we loved each other as human beings?

How about white people exam their racism, the history of the people who call themselves white, and what whiteness can done and continues to do around the globe?

I’m sorry that Megan the racist and others like her spew hatred based on RACISM. Will humans ever learn?

I had a friend who passed away in 2021. Malcom always reiterated this story: when white men laid between the thighs of black women, the battle was lost. We were brought to this country against our will, enslaved and raped by white men. Historically, white men have invaded most countries in the world and forced themselves upon women of color. Now white people are complaining about people of color everywhere. It's too late; you've created this mess. Stop whining and recognize what you have done. It's too late to change the history. The proof of your desires is evident in all people of different skin colors everywhere. Have you been watching the World Cup. They are beautiful men of color. Thank you white people!
