I am hoping, Dr. Glaude, that the rich and storied history of black people in this country, the survival stories, the coping strategies, the push back stories, the discovery stories and the creation stories will inform all of us as these grim new days unfold. I look forward, especially, to hearing from the women, who like all women have mostly struggled out of the spotlight, struggled and raised fine children, entered professions that have made a difference, endured scorn and grown beautiful.
I’m so happy that your spirit was renewed after your visit to Selma.
Fellowship is the main component of Christian life. We all must reach down deep and soul search where no smart phone or media site will satisfy our needs.
We must continue to support, encourage and build each other up!
Thank you Professor Glaude. You always help me to keep what can only be called anger under control. But we need new tactics. To some extent the progress we have made was facilitated by what I think was the guilt whites felt for all the damage they have wrought on the Black community. They don’t seem to feel that guilt anymore so we need new tactics.
Thank you for this. It upsets me greatly that the baby steps towards equality made after such unjust brutality are in the process of being erased by an administration led by white supremacists.
Dr. Glaude, I agree that these monumental and historical events remind us of the work that needs to be done. Engaging in the current fight for change, we pay homage to our ancestors, who endured so much.

Thank you for your powerful reflection - your words brought me there with you and the photos are haunting. We have so much work to do.
