You’ve said exactly what people need to hear much more broadly. Truth!!!!!!! The sad truth. The “useful idiot” distracts us from the insidious autocratic agenda that even goes beyond The Heritage Foundation. Which book by Ruth Ben Ghiat are you recommending? Thank you for all your insights. Blessings to your sweet mother for a complete recovery and blessings to your family as you take care of her and make her days joyful with your love. Be well.

When a friend of mine’s daughter was murdered and thrown to the side of the road, the report on the news said, “ A morbidly obese women was found murdered on the side of the road.” My friend felt it was incomprehensible for the news to report it this way and that added to her grief

Thank you. I appreciate your look at the big picture with respect to the overall descent into authoritarianism. The stuff they're doing isn't a *distraction* -- it's all part of the *plan*.

Sending prayers and strength to your mother and to your whole family.

Thanks from Minnesota! A rough one here for sure. We haven’t forgotten the June 14th losses here either. I think maybe these things leave the national news quickly but the local media and residents grieve in the states longer. Have a good weekend all. The best we can during these times.

I'm sorry eddie some great words here...but i just dont think america is gonna make it....for me,its was the shooting of the children[again] that just proves the case for me...the people could protest and bring this country to its knee's and force something to be done,if they had the will, the community and the spirit to do it..but they wont, there are too indivilistic,to worried about getting the next days pay,and this shooting will be forgetten within the week ,so apathy as well ....and if they cant stand for even their neighbours children to bring better change for their community then they sure as hell arent gonna stand for democracy or america :(

I look forward to your weekly wrap up. You are a Superpower! Hopefully, we will learn from our mistakes and grow from the challenges that we are facing.

May God’s grace be a continuous flow of blessings for you and your family .

Apparently "werra" is a proto-germanic word, which means confusion (or quarrel) and is the root of the english word "war."

Seems like the reason we have a completely different Republican Party from Reagan and the Bush's is because the base of the Republican Party finally gave up on that Republican philosophy when GW and Cheney unmasked it as the naked failure it has always been. Couldn't protect, could support, couldn't avenge, couldn't explain, couldn't even convince their own diehards to believe... So they left. The base left conservative Republicans because they failed.

Next thing you know, their whole political platform is culture war, and you see the rise of the "culture warrior."

Think about a culture that is based on nothing but war, and the people who rule through waging war, and compare it to where we are with this "new" Republican Party.

Remember, when a system fails, going backwards to tribalism isn't unheard of.
