While China seems willing to negotiate and exchange skills, the Trump administration (as ones from the early 20th) do not look for exchange and to fuel equivalent prosperity, but rather extraction and violent dominance. The new “banana republic” for a battery focused world.
I mean American is putting things as plany as it can, it is now the enemy of europe and is activily working against democratic parties and asking those more radical right wing government to deflect from Europe to break things apart..

According to a leaked version of the Trump administration’s US national security strategy, the White House is planning to call on Austria, Hungary, Italy and Poland to quit the EU.
The plans, leaked by US defence website Defense One, also suggest the US is attempting to create a new elite of five “Core” countries, known as the C5, to replace the G7.
These countries would be the US, China, India, Japan and Russia."
