We certainly have some work to do. Struck by the King clip at the end on inequality. Nothing has really changed. We are still fighting discrimination, inequality, and a broken political/economic system. You are right. This isn’t us copying the Nazi playbook, it is us struggling with the hateful DNA that is part of who we are as a nation. there is perhaps a opportunity here as well....for all those that oppose trump will targeted as "enemies"...whether you are white , black , mexican, gay, straight, wether you are trans, oriental, female or male, trump will make no distinction....and neither should those that resist....if a person worry of the moment could take this resistance, and weld them in a movement of just those american who resist trump , and want to put america back together and perhaps better for the people..what a movement and backing he would have that would be above the petty differences of all genders, classes ,races, positions, and wealth ..what a movement that would be?

What I didn’t mention is I’m gobsmacked at friends and especially family their deep rooted prejudices and bigotry, that I ignored, didn’t see or was not privy too. Either they have been able to hide this so well is beyond me and will take the responsibility for my own ignorance. How I see simplistically it is that all of what’s going on for some is looking from the inside out through the pane glass window and some are feeling somehow safe from all that’s going on in Minneapolis but for me know it will reach all our doors. Live close to Columbus OH that’s having their own ICE capades currently. And the added knowledge that inside the household there are ones who would side with ICE and this entire regime in a heartbeat. They wouldn’t be the ones to hide Ann Frank they would turn her in or not even attempt to aid.
To daily and gave arrived to come to terms that I haven't lost friends, family anyone in my life over the years about politics.
I've lost friends, family and the people in those years over morals, values, ethics, and principals and an understanding of what humanity is all about that differs so greatly from my own. This is heartbreaking, and carries grief with that.

When it comes to the disgusting tactics of ICE and individuals in various formats almost cheering and use their expression as “my parents came here legally, but these “blanks” didn’t so yea kick the mother fu^kers out, I’m all in for ICE” Now either they are bots or real people really doesn’t matter it shows the “ugliness” inside the USA.
A feeling that you get that they are more entitled by how their ancestors got here versus someone today. When did they or the ones cheering become more “entitled” over anyone else in this country? Do they think that the ones who walked thousands of miles to get to this nation from wherever they were running from would want to be seen as “outcasts”. As “vermin” or as being told by the man sitting at Pennsylvania Ave in DC as “poisoning the blood” of America. Really?!?
Why were their ancestors not exactly the same? Some of our ancestors were brought here unwillingly, some were not. But we are here due to the lineage and the history of each of us within our own DNA and our families decided to come here to stay and make a better life for them and maybe their family.
Let’s be honest there is approximately 30% of the American population who don’t want anyone here in this nation that doesn’t look exactly like them. They don’t want someone with a different skin color. They don’t want someone who has a different faith. They don’t want people to decide to love whomever they want. They don’t want someone here that is disabled, or as they deem weak, needing help in any way. They don’t want a woman to have a mind of her own, or have control over her own body. They don’t want anyone’s children to read a book that they don’t deem appropriate. They don’t want any man or woman to push back on how they see this nation. How they see this world they believe this is their right, their creed their kingdom.
Until we come to grips with the deep-seated roots of bigotry, prejudices this nation will never be home of the brave. That 30% will remain. Even when this nation can pull out of all of this they will remain. Once we decide to see each other as the same versus attacking the differences and figure out that no one is better than the other. That we all no matter how deep the cut the color will always be red.
That We are One Republic for which it stands, one Nation, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all. We may never attain that lofty ideal.
Because folks this should be an eye opener that we are now a Fascist government. You know Nazi’s if you scoff or question that well here’s just a gander of our current government.
