Yes T wants to appear strong - not least because he’s growing weaker by the day - but he also desires to BE strong.
He’s really trying to precipitate armed conflict, WITHIN the US, dividing part of us against some other, so he can mobilize troops, and transform his oligarchic coup into a military dictatorship.
I think he will act with increasing desperation until he falls. It is SO critical that we play our resistance game (as you say!), and not be suckered into his need for conflict.
This day, I am grateful for my dear family - both those scattered, and those home this weekend.
And I am grateful for all my fellow Americans, of whatever stripe, who continue to remember hard lessons from independence, the civil war, reconstruction, the rights movements - and who have thus far refrained from T’s temptations to violence.
With all the madness in this world, it’s easy to forget to see the light that still shines around us. I’m grateful for you, Eddie, for your weekly insights and wise words.
