As a 75 year old Black woman raised in Louisiana doing the 50’s and 60’s, I have never felt so hopeless in my life. I keep thinking I am having a nightmare and can’t wake up from it.
I can only imagine what my ancestors felt like coming out on to a ship and seeing nothing but water and not knowing what to do or where they were going. That is how I am feeling right now.
