Thank you so much for your understanding and guidance as we need someone like you to guide us during these difficult times.
The loss of Nikki Giovanni has been upsetting. I left the US on the day she passed to start my process of “Beginning Again “. I decided to go to Paris for 8 days. I was told of Giovanni’s passing upon my arrival in France.
The election has sent me in a “tailspin” of sorts and I have times when I am extremely angry or so disappointed that I don’t know which way to turn.
I have turned to your books, Baldwin, Giovanni and Angela Davis!
Hopefully, I will find a way forward as these are “trying times “.
Thank You God we have you to remind us of who we are and the hope we so need in these times. Our leadership is lean, and the lane is narrow, thank you.
I love you professor G!I hope you will invest more time producing your own content, and leave Joe&Mikka, MSNBC, and others alone. You're too deep for them! They just don't get it.
Your read of the Daniel Penny acquittal is so completely NOT too simplistic. I heard your comments and thought "Nailed it" just before you said you knew some people would find this simplistic. As for anti-vaxxers: I'm old enough to remember the breakthrough that the Salk and Sabin vaccines were, how patriotic we all felt as tiny children lining up to go into the school gym and get our vaccines so we could protect all in the community. So yes, selfishness, fascistic selfishness. This hard heartedness is making me very sad indeed. While I am listening to you today I am saying "yes that" and "yes that" and then "yes that." It's been a hard week, trying week indeed, but hearing you put it together so eloquently actually helps me hold it together so thanks
there was a great piece on msbnc between joy reid and thom hartness about the beginning of the current healthservice in america - it certainly is a eye opener and worth a watch
It does seem the world is going mad, as old rules , regulations and norms are torn away, as might makes right, power is to be used, people are to be exploited is given full reign in this current time.....all the veneres of civilization are slowly being peeled away one by one, there really needs to be butress against such things where the downtrodden , the poor, the powerless could all move together into a union to protect themselfs and stand up for themselfs to have representation? i hoped the democratic party would do that..but it cant, so I like many dont know where to look , where to go, or what to believe in,anymore? :(
if you live in a dog eat dog world , dont be surprised when one day, the dogs come for you [sighs]..that healthcare sitution is getting worse, as the CEO protect themselfs by arresting a 40 year mother of three who issued a threat down the phone...and the CEO's [with firms backing]have forced the justice system to use her as a example to hangup and warn the rest of the public, who is in charge...i rather deem this will backfire :( i mean the justice system moves like lightning to protect CEO's but will not do a damned thing to protect children in school, speaks to money and influence in the system. You cant move the people with great injustice,it just doesnt happen :(
I was so pleased that you touched upon the subject of vaccines. Personally, I think it’s insane to even consider eliminating vaccines. The underserved communities usually suffer the most. We took the sugar cube vaccine for polio. Polio is real! One family member was born with polio in the early 40’s, and at that time the family was the only means of support. Hopefully, someone will intervene in the appointment of RFK, Jr to a job that requires administrative and medical training.

Remembering Nikki Giovanni……

Dr. Glaude,
I was so pleased that you touched upon the subject of vaccines. Personally, I think it’s insane to even consider eliminating vaccines. The underserved communities usually suffer the most. We took the sugar cube vaccine for polio. Polio is real! One family member was born with polio in the early 40’s, and at that time the family was the only means of support.
